Good Deals on Steaz Organic Drinks

I posted a few weeks back about how to get a free sample of Steaz drinks. Since then, I've tried the teas and sparkling green tea beverages. They are both delicious! I especially love the peach flavored ice tea. It's a great alternative to traditional sodas. The drinks are brewed fresh with sustainably-sourced, fair trade organic green tea and sweetened with stevia. They contain no sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Flannel Sheets $13.98 at Target

Some Target stores have a lot of sheets on clearance, including the Home Flannel Sheets priced at $13.98 (regular price $19.99). We bought these sheets several weeks back and they have been so warm and cozy during this chilly winter. They are 100% cotton and they have held up very nicely through several washes. I like them so much, I went back to get a matching set for my boys!

Good Deal on Triscuit

Although Triscuits are not organic, they have a number of healthy characteristics. They contain only three ingredients: whole wheat, soybean and/or palm oil, and salt. A serving of 6 crackers contains 3 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, and only 1 gram of saturated fat.

One particularly good deal I noticed was the Playskool Tonka Bounce Back Racer remote-controlled car. You could combine the $10-off Target coupon with the sale price shown in the competitor sales flyers (Toys R Us & Walmart both have it listed as on sale for $29, regular $34) for a final price $19.

Also, you can find a lot of high-value toy coupons HERE (look for the Toys & Games link on the left-hand column). These coupons don't expire until after the holidays, so I'm patiently waiting for sales so I can can get the best deals possible.

Organic Kid's Shirts $2.48 at Target

I've been waiting weeks for these organic t-shirts to go on sale at Target, and they finally did! I got them today for $2.48 each (regular $5.99). I love the messages on the shirts. I can't wait to see them on my little boys!

I got my sample in the mail yesterday. It contained three diapers and a $3-off coupon. There was also a little plastic zipper pouch. I'm not sure what it is, but it could come in handy. I was annoyed that they only had size 1 and 2 available for the free sample.

Also, Target has a special this week where you get a $5 gift card when you buy 2 packs of Huggies Pure & Natural (there are also a number of other items on the list).

Sit n' Spin for $6 ???

You may recall I posted about some high-value toy coupons a couple weeks ago. They don't expire until December 31, so I've been waiting for a sale to combine with the coupons to get the best deal possible.

The Sit n' Spin is on sale at Target for $20 (regular price $21.99). Not a great sale. However, I heard that they are on sale at Walmart for $16 - much better. I'm having a hard time confirming this since Walmart didn't have a sale flyer in the Sunday paper or on their website. I'm working on finding out for sure. If they are on sale for $16, you could use the $10-off coupon for a price of $6!

I'm sure there will be plenty more coupon-sale match ups to come before Christmas, so be sure to print your coupons now before they disappear. I'm afraid the Sit n' Spin coupon has disappeared, but the same coupon was in the 10/18 newspaper.

Target Specials - October 11 to 17

First of all, I'd like to share an interesting anecdote I read on A Thrifty Mom's website called, Target Repentance to Couponers?. In a nutshell, an anonymous Target employee reported that the store management has instructed clerks to be very liberal and agreeable with people using coupons. I don't know how accurate this information is, but I can say that the employees at Target were very agreeable with me today about my coupons!

Case in point - I received a coupon in the mail on Saturday for $5 off a $50 purchase of home goods. Since the coupon didn't specify, I asked the person at the customer service desk what qualified as "home goods". They said it didn't really matter as long as the total purchases equaled at least $50. Very nice!

Here are some of the best deals I got:

• Skippy Natural Peanut Butter - 23 cents a jar
  Skippy is on sale at Walgreens 3 for $5. Show the Walgreens sales flyer at the customer service desk to get this price. Click here for a $1-off Target coupon (go to Target Coupon Generator). Add that to the 40-cents-off manufacturer coupon that came in the newspaper on Sunday, October 4. I had multiple coupons, so I was able to purchase 3 jars for a total of 70 cents. That's 23 cents for each jar!
• Kashi Thin Crust Margherita Pizza - $1 each
  This particular type of pizza is marked at $2.48 (regular price) at my Target. All three times I've bought this, it rang up at $4.49, but I just asked them to correct it and they did. I combined my store coupons with a $1.50/2-manufacturer coupon that I picked up at a sample table at Target a few weeks ago. I paid slightly less than a $1 for each pizza!
• Muir Glen Soup - 85 cents a can
  This soup is on sale for $1.85. Click here for $1-off coupons to Muir Glen. I printed off two coupons, so I got two cans for 85 cents each!
• Nature Valley Nut Clusters - $1.40 a bag
  This was on sale for $2.50. Click here for coupons. I'm not sure I would buy this product again since it contains a lot of sugar and it's not organic (it's easy enough to get good deals on organic granola). However, I had a $1.60-off coupon, and I was willing to try it out for $1.40 a bag. It kept the boys happy while we shopped.
  
• Simply Asia - $2.50 each
  These pre-packaged meals were on sale 2 for $5. My husband likes to eat these for lunch at work.
• Children's Graphic Ts - $2.80 each
  Selected prints are on clearance for $2.80. I got matching shirts for my boys that say, "Be Green". How perfect!
  

Each Reusable Bag Gets You 5 Cents Off at Target

You can now get 5 cents off your total purchase for each reusable bag you use at Target. This is a new policy, so you may have to remind the clerk to make the deduction. At one Target I was told the bag had to be from Target. However, at another Target, I was told it could be any reusable bag.

Good Price for Kashi Pizza at Target

Good Price for Skippy at Target

Click here for a $1-off Target coupon (go to Target Coupon Generator). Add that to the 40-cents-off manufacturer coupon that came in the newspaper on Sunday, October 4. Some Targets have Skippy on sale for $1.79 (with coupons, that's 39 cents). However, at my Target, Skippy is at the regular price of $2.04 (with coupons, that's 64 cents). I like the Skippy Natural since it has no hydrogenated oil and it's no-stir.

Save on Foaming Baby Wash

 I decided to give Johnson's Head-to-Toe Foaming Wash a try a few months ago instead of the regular non-foaming wash. I'm so glad I did because I use SO much less soap! I refill the foaming bottle with just a tiny bit of soap and the rest water and shake it up. A little soap goes a long way using this method. Plus, it's just nicer to have the soap all foamy when it comes out of the bottle.

Everyone in our family uses this soap - babies and grown-ups. I would rather use Burt's Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash, but Johnson's is a lot more frugal. I feel it's the next best choice. It's made for newborns, so it's very mild and doesn't contain a lot of perfumes or chemicals.
